Hello and welcome.
At one end of the scale are the Professional Photographers;
then come the Amateur Photographers (Capital A, usually members of Camera Clubs or Photographic Societies etc).
At the other end of the scale are the Holiday Snapshot'ers - recorders of the memories that form the cement within the family group.
I belong somewhere between the later two, I understand a lot of the technical stuff of photography but I use it as a tool, a means to an end. For me it's the picture that is important. Although I try hard, the photography usually lacks quality.
